Let’s have a talk about how electing to not wear something ‘sexy’ on halloween, does not under any circumstances make you better than the people who do choose the ‘sexy’ costumes.

It is everyone’s right to choose to wear what ever the hell they want. Fuck you for thinking you’re special because you wanted to dress like a zombie instead. You aren’t special. You’re just like the girl who chose to be a sexy crayon. You made a choice based on your personal preferences.

God. All of the slutshaming that happens in October kills me every fucking year.

this.

this had been on my mind for a while and i’m glad some one said it.

Agreed that every woman (and person) should choose whatever the hell they want to wear for Halloween, but I must say, the way every fucking costume for women is so sexualized, is ridiculous. The problem isn’t a female who chooses to wear a sexy costume for Halloween (go for it, rock that shit!), it’s the fact that sexy costumes are much easier to come by than any other kind for women. It’s the fact that the difference between the same costume for men and women is overwhelmingly marked by the women’s version being super sexualized. It’s the fact that a costume even EXISTS of a woman called “Jane Doe” in a sexy, little black dress, supposedly mimicking a body bag. Women are fucking sexy and we’re allowed to wear sexy costumes for Halloween if we want to, of course. And the original person who posted this is right—the slut-shaming has got to stop. I just think these companies that make Halloween costumes need to realize that there should be more options than sexualized versions of every male costume they make.
